 Watercolor paper can make such a difference in how paint moves, blends, and dries. These are papers I personally like for watercolor projects, cards, bookmarks, and small handmade pieces. I look for paper that feels sturdy, holds color well, and gives enough texture for soft washes and little details.

First up is the BAOHONG Artist Watercolor Paper Block. I like these watercolor blocks because they give me the feel of 100% cotton, artist-grade paper at a price that still feels reasonable for practice and finished pieces. The 140 lb/300 gsm weight handles water well, holds color beautifully, and feels sturdy enough for cards, bookmarks, and small paintings. I especially like using a block instead of loose sheets because the edges are glued down, which helps reduce curling and warping while I paint. The firm backing also makes it easier to work at my desk, move a piece around, or paint without needing to tape the paper down first.
